Kansas - Clinical Engineering and Biomedical Equipment Technology Week

PROCLAMATION BY THE GOVERNOR

 

TO THE PEOPLE OF KANSAS, GREETINGS:

 

WHEREAS, Technology advances, so does the need for advancement in the healthcare environment; and

 

WHEREAS, The complexity of clinical technology in today's healthcare setting has made it essential that those individuals in charge with the safety of this equipment become an invaluable resource to the patient care team; and

 

WHEREAS, These unique individuals have the ability to bridge the gap between the patient, medical staff and the devices needed for continuum care in today's healthcare; and

 

WHEREAS, These dedicated professionals play an integral role in assuring the quality and safety of technology-related healthcare devices; and

 

WHEREAS, The Clinical Engineering and Biomedical Technology professionals dutifully calibrate, repair, and inspect these medical devices for patient and staff safety, as well as the accurate and reliable results needed for proper diagnosis and treatment; and

 

WHEREAS, Proper management and care of these medical devices by qualified Clinical Engineers and Biomedical Technologists results in both better quality patient care and reduced health costs:

 

NOW, THEREFORE, I, KATHLEEN SEBELIUS, GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF KANSAS, do hereby proclaim December 10-16, 2006 as

 

CLINICAL ENGINEERING AND BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNOLOGY WEEK

 

In Kansas and urge all citizens to join in this observance
